If you connect Red and Blue wires together, the programming works in reverse: so when timer turns on, lights go off; when timer turns off, lights go on. |
How
to wire ST01C & EJ500 These instructions
are for replacing ordinary light switch that has 2 wires. Red wire is only used in 3-way circuit ... if your lights click on-and-off after installing ST01C or EJ500, you connected red wire where blue wire should go, so change them. Put wire nut over end of red wire so it is capped off. 1) Black wire from timer connects to Hot wire from breaker box 2) Blue wire from timer connects to Load (lights, fan, motor) 3) How to test for Hot and Load wires: Switch you are replacing has 2 wires. One wire is Hot. Other wire goes to Load. Disconnect wires from switch. Turn on power. Use ordinary tester, test each wire to bare copper wire. When tester lights up, that is Hot wire. The Hot wire connects to Black wire on timer. The other wire connects to Blue wire. |
