How to install 3-phase timer

Buildings with 3-phase power also have Neutral wire used to power ordinary 120Volt outlets.

1) Use 120 Volt timer.

2) Install 3-pole contactor with 120Volt coil

3) Timer controls 120Volt coil.

4) 3-pole contactor turns 3-phase power ON-andOFF.

3-phase industrial timers

	Some timers have dry load terminals. 1) Timer clock is 120 volt. 2) Timer relays are dry and receive no power from clock wiring. 3) This type of timer can be used to control 24Vac power from a transformer. 4) Install 3-pole contactor with 24Volt coil 5) Timer controls 24Volt coil. 5) 3-pole contactor points turn 3-phase power ON-andOFF. Programming steps and wiring appear on inside of timer door so they cannot be lost.
6 ON and 6 OFF programs per week.
Terminals 3 and 4 are dry, and can be used for 24Vac transformer and 24V coil contactor: Connect power to terminals 1 and 2. Do not install jumper wire between terminals 2 and 3. Connect wire from transformer to terminal 3. See illustration of dry terminal wiring scroll down to ET1725 timer.
